Israel, Kampuchea survive UN moves to oust them

Israel and Kampuchea (Cambodia) both survived attempts to oust them from the General Assembly by wide margins.

The Assembly voted by 74 votes to 9, with 31 abstentions, to take no action on a proposal by Iran that it should eject Israel's delegation. Earlier, it rejected a Vietnamese-led attempt to oust the Kampuchean delegation, 90 to 29, with 26 abstentions.
