In a ruling that could jeopardize US military aid to El Salvador, a Salvadoran judge said he accepted a defense request to postpone the trial of five soldiers accused of murdering three American nuns and a Roman Catholic social worker. US Ambassador Deane Hinton has said $61 million in American military aid hinges partly on the trial.
