Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

Werner Vogel, a member of West Germany's Green Party who was elected to parliament last week, resigned his seat because of controversy over his Nazi past. As the oldest member of the Bundestag, Vogel was scheduled to preside over the first session of the new parliament until a permanent speaker was elected.
