Solidarity says it won't use papal visit for protest

Underground leaders of the banned Solidarity labor movement announced they will not stage demonstrations during the visit to Poland by Pope John Paul II in June. A statement, repeating earlier appeals for an amnesty for all political prisoners, followed a meeting of the provisional coordinating commission of Solidarity officials, who have been in hiding.
