Secretary of State George Shultz held talks with a high-ranking Angolan official, US sources said. They are the first talks between top officials of both countries, and are related to independence for Namibia. The issue is sticky , because the US has said Namibian independence from South Africa should only come after 25,000 Cuban troops leave neighboring Angola. Angola rejects this.
