A Thai coalition indicated in early election results

First unofficial results from Thailand's general election suggested the country would have another fragmented Parliament. Kukrit Pramoj, leader of Thailand's largest political party, said he did not expect a single party to win a majority. The snap election, called by Prime Minister Prem Tinsulanonda to ward off possible military intervention, was fought by the two main parties, Mr. Kukrit's Social Action Party and the Democracy Party. Early reports said the two parties were together capturing about half the vote. Mr. Kukrit said his party was ready to join a coalition under Mr. Prem.
