Prisoner killed in attempt to flee Israeli prison camp

One prisoner was killed in an attempted breakout by several men at an Israeli prison camp in southern Lebanon, an Israeli military spokesman said. He said there would be an investigation. He did not say how many people had tried to break out of the Ansar camp, but denied reports that a number of prisoners had succeeded.

Meanwhile, two people were killed when a bomb exploded on a main road near Beirut, state television and Christian Phalangist radio reported.
