Study indicates VDTs do not impair vision

Scientists reported they found no evidence that video display terminals, the TV-like computer screens used by more than 7 million office workers, cause vision damage.

A special committee of the National Research Council suggested discomfort and illness attributed to VDTs, which display luminous characters typed out on attached keyboards, are caused by other factors, some as simple as desk height.
