Turkish premier to run in November elections

Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ulusu said he will run in general elections Nov. 6 as a candidate for the right-of-center Nationalist Democracy Party. The NDP, set up in May, is headed by retired Gen. Turgut Sunalp and is widely regarded as having the backing of the military regime. It is one of several new parties running in the elections, which will restore an elected parliament.
