Zambia to hold national elections

President Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia has dissolved the national Assembly, paving the way for presidential and parliamentary elections. The elections will take place October 27.

Mr. Kaunda announced the dissolution Friday, shortly after he was elected sole presidential candidate for the ruling United National Independence Party.
