Airline unionists to seek 'minimum reregulation'

Airline union leaders, led by AFL-CIO President Lane Kirkland, are going to Capitol Hill in the next few days with a plea for ''minimum reregulation'' of the industry.

Capt. Henry Duffy, president of the Air Line Pilots Association, and representatives of other airline unions plan to call for action to protect the country against the effects of the possible financial collapse of Continental, Eastern, and other airlines. If action is not fast enough, he said, there could be an industry-wide strike. The unions also want Congress to take measures to ensure that federal bankruptcy laws are not misused to void collective bargaining agreements.
