Pornography voted a violation of civil rights

The Minneapolis City Council has narrowly approved an ordinance that says that certain kinds of pornography violate the civil rights of women. The amended ordinance, believed to be the first of its kind in the US, was the subject of an intense debate during which one council member told of her own experience as a rape victim. The measure still must be signed into law by Minneapolis Mayor Donald Fraser, who has said he has doubts about its constitutionality.
