France charges that Libya had role in Chad attack
France accused Muammar al-Qadaffi's regime in Libya of being behind a rebel attack on French troops in Chad and the shooting down of a French warplane Wednesday with the loss of its pilot.
''We cannot abide the seriousness of the events that have taken place in Chad ,'' a Foreign Ministry spokesman said. ''It seems Libya was responsible,'' he said, without specifying what role Libya played.
