A declaration approved by a five-day conference in which 57 countries took part called on member states to refuse to allow their media facilities to be used for unfavorable reports. Ministers have strongly criticized what they see as the domination of world news media by the major international news agencies in the United States, Britain, and France.

The declaration also ''agreed that all mass media of nonaligned countries be encouraged, whenever the word 'Israel' is to be cited, to use instead 'the racist Zionist regime.' '' Conference sources said this paragraph was inserted at the insistence of Iran, which won out against more moderate countries.
