Reagan's '85 budget plan puts deficit at $180 billion

President Reagan will send Congress a fiscal 1985 budget that calls for $926 billion in federal spending and a $180 billion deficit, congressional sources said Tuesday.

The budget blueprint, to be sent to Congress today, calls for a cut of $5 billion in social spending, down from the $8.4 billion reduction contained in an earlier draft. The difference reflects pressure on the President from Republican lawmakers to go easy on social programs during this election year.
