Boliva begins search for President's kidnappers

Bolivia's left-wing government launched a manhunt Sunday to capture three military officers it accused of masterminding Saturday's 10-hour kidnapping of President Hernan Siles Zuazo in an abortive coup attempt.

Mr. Siles Zuazo was rescued by the Army Saturday after armed rebel police abducted him from his home, former Interior Minister Mario Roncal told reporters.

Housing Minister Guillermo Capobianco said the abduction had been part of an abortive coup attempt that had failed to gain support elsewhere in the country.
