Senate resolve urges Soviets to provide facts on Sakharov

The Senate approved a resolution, 93 to 0, on Tuesday urging the Soviet Union to provide ''specific information as to the whereabouts, health, and legal status'' of Andrei Sakharov and his wife, Yelena Bonner.

The resolution also urged President Reagan to protest in the strongest possible terms and at the highest possible levels Moscow's refusal to provide specific information on the Sakharovs.

Dr. Sakharov began fasting in early May in an effort to win permission for his wife to leave the Soviet Union for medical treatment, and he has not been seen since he was removed from his apartment a week later.
