Tape on Aquino killing reported tampered with
An independent technician who studied television videotapes the government submitted as evidence on the assassination of Benigno Aquino testified Wednesday that frames in the tapes had been removed.
Subroto Choudhury, a communications consultant for several government offices , said the government film showed only the landing of the aircraft that brought Mr. Aquino home and then the bodies of Aquino and his alleged assassin, Rolando Galman, as they lay sprawled on the tarmac. The frames in between had supposedly been removed.
The five-member panel investigating the assassination officially wound up its inquiry last month, but hearings were reopened yesterday to receive new evidence.
