Ferraro says she did nothing wrong in financial dealings

Democratic vice-presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro yesterday defended her financial dealings, saying she did nothing wrong and had in public life deliberately kept her finances separate from her husband's. ''At no time did I violate any public trust,'' she said.

Ms. Ferraro spoke at a packed press conference near her home here in Queens after weeks of controversy over her finances and those of her husband, John Zaccaro.

Ferraro attempted to settle one key issue in the controversy by stating that her decision not to report her husband's assets on her congressional financial disclosure forms was completely proper.
