US school closing in Panama raises warning from Cuba

Cuba Wednesday welcomed the decision to close the US-run School of the Americas in Panama but cautioned that the military college could continue classes in what it called ''murder and torture'' in some other part of Latin America.

The US Southern Command announced last week it will close its 38-year-old School of the Americas Sept. 30, turning over the facility to Panama under terms of the 1977 Panama Canal Treaty.
