Southeastern coastline braces as hurricane Diana sweeps in
Schools closed and residents left for high ground Monday in the face of Diana , the first hurricane of 1984, which followed a wobbly course up the Southeastern coastline with 80-m.p.h. winds and 12-foot storm tides.
Hurricane Diana forced the space shuttle Discovery to stay overnight in Olkahoma, on its return trip home to Cape Canaveral. It arrived yesterday via piggyback atop a Boeing 747.
