US to get UNESCO refund by year-end, official says

A senior UNESCO official promised the United States Wednesday it would receive a disputed $20 million budget refund by the end of the year, the date the Reagan administration has set for withdrawal from the organization. The dispute is over repayment of some $80 million which accumulated last year as a result of the declining worth of the French franc against the dollar.
