Spain, Guatemala formally renew diplomatic relations

Spain and Guatemala on Saturday formally restored their diplomatic links, broken four years ago when police stormed the Spanish Embassy in Guatemala City. Spanish Foreign Minister Fernando Moran Lopez and his Guatemalan colleague, Fernando Andrade Diaz, signed the accord in a ceremony attended by Colombian President Belisario Betancur, who began mediating between the two countries last year.
