Corrections for 9/20 and 9/21/84. In a Midwest election preview Sept. 20, the Monitor incorrectly reported that US Rep. Hal Daub (R) of Nebraska would be challenged in the Nov. 6 election by Omaha City Councilman Walt Calinger (D). Actually, Congressman Daub's Democratic opponent is Omaha businessman Tom Cavanaugh.

Also, in a Sept. 21 article on union strength, an accompanying graph was mislabeled. It should have shown that employment in the service-producing sector of the economy is growing, while in the goods-producing sector, job growth has slowed.

The Monitor regrets these errors.
