West German makes rounds in Peking on trade mission
West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, following up five hours of intensive discussions with Premier Zhao Ziyang, met Chinese President Li Xiannian on Tuesday and was due to see Communist Party chief Hu Yaobang later. Mr. Kohl, on a six-day China tour, is hoping to carve out a bigger share of the Chinese market for West German businessmen. His Monday talks with Mr. Zhao focused on bilateral economic affairs.
