Second Judge found guilty in Chicago bribery case

A second judge in the federal ''Operation Greylord'' investigation of Cook County courtroom corruption has been found guilty of taking bribes to fix cases and steer clients to crooked lawyers.

A US District jury returned a guilty verdict Monday against former Associate Judge John J. Devine, who was charged with extortion, mail fraud, and racketeering.

Prosecutors said they saw the verdict as vindication for the investigative techniques used in ''Operation Greylord,'' which included the bugging of judges' chambers and the use of lawyers and judges as undercover agents.
