French Embassy protected in Beirut after attack warning

The Lebanese Army, fearing attacks on French institutions, closed streets around the French Embassy and put guards outside the office of Agence France-Presse, a military spokesman said Saturday.

He said the Army had information that three trucks carrying explosives were at large in Beirut, but he did not say why French institutions were considered particularly at risk.
