Reagan opens final week with his economic theme

President Reagan urged voters Monday to tell Democrats next week that ''you're simply not going to allow them to pick the American wallet again.'' He opened the last full week of the 1984 campaign season at a rally at Millersville University, accusing Walter Mondale of dangling promises before special-interest groups and never, while in the Senate, voting to sustain the veto of any spending bill.

Vice-President George Bush, on a five-day campaign swing through eight states , argued Monday that Reagan was largely responsible for saving social security. He said, ''We are going to keep it sane and sound on into the next decade.''
