City law to fight pornography is struck down in Indianapolis
A judge struck down as unconstitutional an antipornography ordinance that defines sexually explicit material as a form of sex discrimination, but Mayor William H. Hudnut says the decision will be appealed, possibly ''as far as the Supreme Court.''
In a decision released Monday, US District Judge Sarah Evans Barker said the ordinance was excessively broad and vague and infringes on everyone's freedom. He said if the law were upheld, future lawmakers could prohibit other forms of behavior deemed unacceptable by the majority of citizens.
