Jordan's King Hussein rejects Camp David accords

Jordan's King Hussein, asserting there can be no Middle East peace if east Jerusalem is not returned to Arab rule, stunned the Egyptian parliament Sunday by denouncing the Camp David accords between Israel and Egypt.

Outlining a five-point peace plan, Hussein stressed that the basis of a solution should be an exchange with Israel of occupied Arab land for peace. Hussein also told the parliament that the Palestine Liberation Organization must be a full partner in any future Mideast peace talks and that Jordan would not bargain with Israel on the Palestinians' behalf.

Hussein's trip, his first to Egypt since 1976, was the first official visit here by an Arab leader who severed ties with Egypt after it made peace with Israel in 1979.
