EDWARD WESTON PRINTS will be exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York from Sept. 11 to Oct. 31. The centennial retrospective consists of about 120 of Weston's photographs, as well as original letters and documents, one of his cameras, portraits of Weston, and pages from his original daybooks. The exhibition has been touring 13 institutions across the United States. It will go to the National Museum of American Art in Washington, D.C., after it leaves the Metropolitan. WATCH A SCULPTOR in action at Chesterwood in Stockbridge, Mass. This year's sculptor in residence is Ellen Driscoll, and she demonstrates her working methods every Saturday (through Oct. 17), 1-3 p.m. Chesterwood, a property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, was the summer estate of sculptor Daniel Chester French, and houses more than 800 sculpted works. The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City is cosponsor of the sculptor-in-residence program, now in its third year. THE RITCHIE VALENS MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP, unveiled last week in Los Angeles, will support Hispanic young people wishing to pursue a college music education. Valens was the stage name of Richard Valenzuela, whose brief rock-and-roll career is portrayed in the hit movie ``La Bamba.'' Donations began with a $5,000 presentation to the Youth Opportunities Foundation, which will administer the scholarship.
