French Open Tennis (NBC, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.): From Roland Garros Stadium in Paris, live coverage of the men's singles finals. Waldheim: A Commission of Inquiry (HBO cable, 8-11:30 p.m.; check local listings for future airings): An international panel of judges considers Nazi war-crime allegations against Austrian President Kurt Waldheim, in the light of evidence set out in detail during the program.
MONDAY The First Storytellers (PBS, 10-11 p.m.): This episode of `Moyers: Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth'' looks at archetypal tales and rituals in mankind's early hunting societies.
TUESDAY Acid Rainbows (PBS, 10-10:30 p.m.): Acid rain in the Western US - how bad is it? Can it be stopped? Researchers, environmentalists, and - inevitably - politicians look at the controversial issue in a wide-ranging documentary.

THURSDAY A"ida (A&E cable network, 9-11 p.m.; also at 1 a.m.; check local listings for future airings): This spectacular 1953 color version of the Verdi opera stars a young Sophia Loren in the title role, with the dubbed voice of the great soprano Renata Tebaldi.
