FRIDAY David Bowie: Glass Spider Tour (ABC, 9-10 p.m.): The rock star's first network TV special was taped during his international concert tour and features rock guitarist Peter Frampton and singer-guitarist Charlie Sexton. Primetime/Japan (PBS, 9-10 p.m.): A guided tour of a typical day's TV viewing in Japan - with clips of everything from soaps to sports.

SATURDAY K2 - The Savage Mountain (A&E cable network, 9-10 p.m.; also at 1 a.m.; check local listings for future airings): British climbers assault the world's second-highest peak - a notoriously hazardous one - in this ``Living Dangerously'' documentary. Skating: Night of Olympic Champions (ABC, 4:30-6 p.m.): Katarina Witt, Brian Boitano, and other greats perform their magic in this ``Wide World of Sports'' episode.

SUNDAY 42nd Annual Tony Awards (CBS, 9-11 p.m.): The theater world's top prizes are bestowed in a show - loaded with stars, of course - that is traditionally the best-done of the growing number of annual award programs. French Open Tennis (NBC, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.): From Roland Garros Stadium in Paris, live coverage of the men's singles finals. Waldheim: A Commission of Inquiry (HBO cable, 8-11:30 p.m.; check local listings for future airings): An international panel of judges considers Nazi war-crime allegations against Austrian President Kurt Waldheim, in the light of evidence set out in detail during the program.

MONDAY The First Storytellers (PBS, 10-11 p.m.): This episode of `Moyers: Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth'' looks at archetypal tales and rituals in mankind's early hunting societies.

TUESDAY Acid Rainbows (PBS, 10-10:30 p.m.): Acid rain in the Western US - how bad is it? Can it be stopped? Researchers, environmentalists, and - inevitably - politicians look at the controversial issue in a wide-ranging documentary.

WEDNESDAY That War in Korea (A&E cable network, 8:30-10 p.m.; also at 12:30 a.m.; check local listings for future airings): Sometimes overshadowed by the Vietnam war, the Korean conflict is documented in all its terrible toll and historical impact.

THURSDAY A"ida (A&E cable network, 9-11 p.m.; also at 1 a.m.; check local listings for future airings): This spectacular 1953 color version of the Verdi opera stars a young Sophia Loren in the title role, with the dubbed voice of the great soprano Renata Tebaldi.
