In the FAMILY

MY mother kept loose change in her top bureau drawer. She became aware that the coins were disappearing. She also began to notice that my brother was buying a lot of candy from the local grocery store. My brother had never been known to steal anything, so my mother was apprehensive about accusing him.

One night as she was tucking him into bed, she put her arms around him and found herself saying, ``I'm so happy to know that none of my children would ever take anything from anyone that didn't belong to him.'' Not one penny was ever taken from that drawer again.
