FRIDAY Baseball playoff (ABC, starting 8 p.m., ET, check local listings): The Los Angeles Dodgers face the New York Mets in Shea Stadium for Game 3 of the National League championship - to see who represents this league in the World Series.

SATURDAY Baseball playoffs (ABC, check local listings): At noon, ET, the NL plays Game 4, in Shea Stadium. At 8 p.m., ET, the Boston Red Sox go against the Oakland Athletics in Game 3 of the AL playoffs in Oakland.

SUNDAY Baseball playoff(s) - (ABC, check local listings): AL plays Game 4 in Oakland at 2:30 p.m., ET. Possible NL Game 5 at Shea Stadium (if the pennant has not yet been decided) is at 8 p.m., ET.

MONDAY Possible baseball playoff (ABC, check local listings): At 3 p.m., ET, AL Game 5 will be played at Oakland, if there's still no pennant winner. 60 Minutes 20th Anniversary, the First 10 Years (CBS, 8-9 p.m.): A look at some of the notable moments that have made the hard-edged documentary among the most consistently viewed shows in TV history (though it depends on how you slice it). Next Monday: the second 10 years. Country music awards (CBS, 9-11 p.m.): Live from - where else? - Nashville, Tenn., the 22nd Annual Country Music Association Awards is hosted by - who else? - Dolly Parton.

TUESDAY Possible baseball playoff (ABC, check local listings): At 8 p.m., ET, NL Game 6 at is played at Dodger Stadium - if the pennant is still undecided.

WEDNESDAY The Explorers: A Century of Discovery (PBS, 9-10:30 p.m.): The National Geographic Society, appropriately enough, celebrates its 100th anniversary with a sampling of great expeditions. Possible baseball playoffs (ABC, check local listings): At 3 p.m., ET, AL plays Game 6 in Boston. At 8 p.m., ET, NL plays Game 7 in Dodger Stadium. Both games only if needed.

THURSDAY CE News Magazine (PBS, 8:30-10 p.m.): Premi`ere of a series based on ``Children's Express,'' a news service which for 10 years has been written by kids 13 and under. Comedy Store 15th Year Class Reunion (NBC, 9:30-11 p.m.): Robin Williams, David Letterman, and some others not quite so famous salute the Hollywood comedy spot. Possible baseball playoff (ABC, check local listings): 8 p.m., ET, AL Game 7 in Boston - if necessary.
