`FOREIGN AFFAIRS' IN JAPANESE

The journal Foreign Affairs this month launches an agreement under which its articles will be republished in the Japanese magazine Chuokoron. The Japanese-language monthly has a circulation of 80,000, while Foreign Affairs has 110,000 subscribers for its five issues a year. ``As Japan and the US both move into the new leadership roles demanded by a post-cold war world, the need increases for each nation to have much better information on what the other is thinking,'' says David Kellogg, publishing director for Foreign Affairs.

The licensing agreement calls for the Japanese publication to reprint each year at least 80 percent of Foreign Affairs' articles.
