STUDENTS WIN CONCESSIONS IN YUGOSLAVIA

Students ended five days of anticommunist street protests in Belgrade yesterday after forcing concessions from the communist leadership of the republic of Serbia, Yugoslav news media said. The protests forced Serbian Interior Minister Radmilo Bog danovic and five managers of communist-controlled Belgrade television to quit and police to release hundreds of arrested demonstrators.

Opposition leader Vuk Draskovic, one of those released, called Wednesday for the resignation of Serbia's government and for elections by the end of the year.

But Zagreb radio said students had called off the demonstrations at the behest of Zoran Djindjic, a leader of the Democratic Party, and Branislav Lecic, an actor.

The unprecedented street challenge to Serbia's communist rulers began violently Saturday, when two people were killed and more than 80 injured in clashes with police.
