REGIONAL DISARMAMENT PACT IS STALLED

El Salvador and Guatemala declined to share inventories of their armed forces with other Central American countries at a regional security meeting here, delegates said Saturday. Both countries cited continued leftist insurgencies and peace talks as reasons they could not immediately produce the inventories which were to be shared by deputy foreign ministers of five Central American countries at the meeting.

The sharing of the inventories was to be a first step toward a regional disarmament accord. The five countries instead agreed to extend to June 10 a deadline by which all five must give the inventories to the Organization of American States.
