SATURDAY Paris Trout (Showtime cable, 9-10:40 p.m.): Not for younger viewers (or some older ones), this harrowing lesson in the mental damage prejudice can do - to the bigot as well as the victim - is effectively delivered by a cast that knows just how to underplay tense scenes. The Southern Gothic tale of racism and murder is based on Peter Dexter's novel, winner of the 1988 National Book Award. Its action, sometimes sexually explicit, occurs in a small Georgia town in the '50s.
