PIZZA MOVES UP ON AMERICA'S DINING AGENDA

Pizza is taking a larger slice of Americans' restaurant orders, but hamburgers remain the top choice of food when dining out, according to statistics from the National Restaurant Association.In 1990, hamburgers and cheeseburgers were included in 17 percent of all restaurant orders, down from 19 percent in 1987. During the same three-year period, orders that included pizza rose from 12 to 13 percent. Per capita consumption of mozzarella cheese - a standard pizza ingredient - more than doubled between 1980 and 1989.
