TEMP WORKERS IN 1991 EARNED $14 BILLION

The annual payroll of the temporary-help industry grew a modest 2 percent to $14 billion in 1991, according to the National Association of Temporary Services.

Last year about 1 percent of the total work force in the US was temporary - more than 1 million people.
