RECORD RATE OF HOLIDAY MAIL TRAFFIC IN 1992

Americans shared greetings at a record rate during the holiday mailing season, according to the United States Postal Service. The volume of stamped mail between Dec. 9 and Dec. 24 was up 7 percent to 2.48 billion pieces in 1992, from 2.32 billion in 1991.
