MORE AMERICANS WEAR CLOTHES THAT CARRY IMPRINTED ADS

* Americans apparently like being walking billboards.

The Specialty Advertising Association International in Irving, Texas, says that each year wearable items imprinted with company logos and messages become a bigger part of its members' business. In 1992, 22.4 percent of all promotional products its members sold were items such as T-shirts, baseball caps, jackets, or sunglasses carrying an advertiser's message and then given away free.
