Baseball playoffs - if needed (CBS, 8 p.m., E.T., to conclusion): In Game 7 of the National League Championship Series - the final one deciding the pennant winner - the Atlanta Braves face the Philadelphia Phillies at the Atlanta Fulton County Stadium.

The Love of Three Oranges

(Arts & Entertainment, 9-11 p.m.): It's been two years since the death of Leonard Bernstein - conductor, composer, world ambassador of music - and to mark the anniversary, this BBC documentary takes a long look at the man in action. Viewers see him rehearsing orchestras - an especially revealing process in Bernstein's case, since he does more talking than some conductors. We see him traveling, performing, and interacting with people. The program's title, incidentally, is a play on the Prokofiev opera ``The Love of Three Oranges'' and refers to the three fine groups Bernstein travels with in this documentary: the Israeli Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic.

Eye to Eye With Connie Chung (CBS, 9-10 p.m.): A remarkable journey is traced in one of this week's segments of the news magazine: a mother's search for a child she gave up for adoption at his birth some 20 years ago, when she was 19. The program followed the California woman for seven months as she sought her son. Yes, it's a trendy subject, but it's also the kind of deeply moving topic that TV was made to cover.

Later the show investigates another popular sociological issue -

sexual harassment - but this incident has a twist. A Seattle man brought charges against his boss - a woman - that were dismissed. Should they have been? ``Eye to Eye's'' investigation attempts to answer the question.
