New Officers at Christian Science Church

THE Christian Science Board of Directors announced April 19 the election to the board of William Hill of Vancouver, British Columbia, and J. Anthony Periton of Kingston-Upon-Thames, England.

Mr. Hill is a Christian Science practitioner and teacher and has served as a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship and as Christian Science Committee on Publication, the church's legislative and public affairs representative, for British Columbia. He will also serve as manager of the Christian Science Publishing Society, which publishes The Christian Science Monitor.

Mr. Periton, also a teacher and practitioner, has previously served as manager and trustee of the publishing house and as district manager of Committees on Publication for Great Britain and Ireland. He will also serve as editor in chief of the publishing society.

Hill replaces Al Carnesciali, whose resignation from the board was announced last week. Periton replaces Richard Bergenheim, who will continue as a contributing editor of the religious periodicals of The First Church of Christ, Scientist. In announcing Mr. Bergenheim's resignation, board chairman Virginia Harris termed his contribution to the church ``monumental.''

In conjunction with her husband's appointment to the board, Honor Hill will step down as a member of the Board of Trustees of the publishing society.

The Christian Science Board of Directors is a five-member self-perpetuating council that oversees the business affairs of the Christian Science Church, whose world headquarters are in Boston.
