UNFORTUNATELY the rumors are true.

The Nehru jacket is making a comeback.

The style originated with Jawaharlal Nehru, the stately prime minister of India who wore the jacket on the international diplomatic scene in the 1950s and early '60s. Pierre Cardin put it in his Paris shop in the mid-'60s, and it enjoyed fleeting fame on the backs of celebrities ...

Now it has returned ... incognito, under the names of ``band collar jacket'' and ``the Bombay.''
