UN is also troubled

IT has become somewhat a futile exercise to criticize the United Nations and NATO for their pitiful performance in dealing with the Bosnian conflict. The two organizations have bumbled, from the onset of the 32-month-old war, and the recent Serb siege of Bihac is simply a magnified example of the two organizations' ineptness....

Indeed, swashbuckling UN commander Gen. Michael Rose gives the impression of still serving the British Army ... constantly appeasing the Serbs when he should be reprimanding them.... In fact, predicting whether a UN relief flight will make it into the airport is like guessing on horse races; pick a day, and just hope.
