* THE RIVER WILD
(PG-13, Universal Home Video). Meryl Streep plays Gail, a mother and former river guide who organizes a family white-water rafting trip. Gail has plans of using this trip to patch up her rocky marriage and to celebrate her son's birthday. But when Kevin Bacon and friends arrive on the scene, they have other plans for them. Gail, along with her husband and son, is soon forced to row down the most dangerous waters in Canada -- a trip she hasn't taken in years. Her skills are put to the test, and in the process, viewers are taken on a wild ride down steep, churning waters. The scenes are intense and suspenseful, yet gorgeous at the same time.
