Cincinnati Pops Holiday With Erich Kunzel and Mel Torme (PBS, 9-10 p.m.): Conductor Erich Kunzel leads the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra through holiday favorites in its first national television production. The festivities include singer Mel Torme celebrating the 50th anniversary of his "Christmas Song."


Walt Disney World Very Merry Christmas Parade (ABC, 10 a.m.-12 noon): Disney's annual parade extravaganza features characters from its new hit, "Toy Story," plus familiar friends like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Santa Goofy, Snow White, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Biography: Charles Schulz: a Charlie Brown Life (A&E, 8-9 p.m.): As a child, Charles Schulz knew he wanted to be a cartoonist. Millions of "Peanuts" readers later, Schulz has been nicknamed the "dean of American cartoonists." This program features interviews with him, his family, and colleagues.


The Kennedy Center Honors: a Celebration of the Performing Arts (CBS, 9-11 p.m.): Dancer Jacques d'Amboise, singer Marilyn Horne, guitarist B.B. King, actor Sidney Poitier, and playwright Neil Simon are honored for lifetime achievements.

ABC's World of Discovery (ABC, 10-11 p.m.): This edition of the natural-science and history series, entitled "Inventors: Out of Their Minds," profiles inventors of the last century - both famous and largely unacknowledged. The program takes a look at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which receives 12,000 patent applications daily.
