March 19: Ariana Afghan Airlines Boeing 727-200 crashes into a mountain near Charasyab, Afghanistan. All 45 aboard killed.

March 18: Formosa Airlines Saab 340B crashes into the sea off Taiwan in bad weather. All 13 aboard killed.

Feb. 28: Cebu Pacific Air DC 9-32 crashes into Mt. Sumagaya in the Philippines. All 104 aboard killed.

Feb. 16: China Airlines Airbus A300-600 crashes near Taipei, Taiwan. All 197 aboard killed.

Jan. 27: Myanma Airways F27 has engine fire near Thandwe, Burma, killing 14 of 45 aboard.
