Bumper-Sticker Haiku II

Last spring we invited Monitor readers to send us haiku appropriate for bumper stickers. We got a bumper crop of poems! More than 3,000 of them arrived from writers around the world. (Based on numbers alone, ours was easily the most popular haiku contest in the United States last year.)

So here's another opportunity. Send us your traffic-stopping poems (no more than five per entrant, please). You choose the topic, but remember: Haikus should capture a mood, a moment, and hint at larger universals. Ideally, haikus contain lines of five, seven, and five syllables.

We'll turn the three top haikus into real bumper stickers. Every finalist, and as many other entrants as we have stickers for, will receive one of the winning stickers. But you must enclose a business-size, self-addressed, stamped envelope with your entry!
